Speed Demon UK | FAQs & Ride Locations

Welcome to the Speed Demon UK hub. Whether you are cutting your teeth on a learner-legal 125cc or twisting the throttle on a 1000cc superbike, our community is built on inclusive, well-marshaled, and exciting road rides. We primarily cover London, Surrey, and Sussex, keeping our routes off the boring motorways to enjoy the best twists and turns the South East has to offer.

📍 Our Core Meetup & Ride Locations

Our group rides are carefully planned to ensure smaller bikes can comfortably keep up, while giving bigger bikes a fantastic, scenic ride.

The Ultimate Hub: Ryka's Café (Box Hill, Surrey)

Our primary playground and starting line is the iconic Ryka's Café at Box Hill (Old London Rd, Mickleham). Positioned perfectly right on the edge of the Surrey Hills, it’s the ultimate spot to grab a coffee, check out the other machinery, and catch up before we brief the group and head south.

The Signature Run: Ryka's to Brighton (Via Ditchling Beacon)

Our most popular cruise bypasses the motorways completely. We leave Box Hill and dive straight into the stunning Sussex countryside, using clean A and B-roads. The highlight of the route is taking the tight, dramatic twisty link over Ditchling Beacon—enjoying spectacular views of the South Downs—before rolling down directly into Brighton for food on the seafront.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Can I join a Speed Demon UK ride on a 125cc bike on L-plates?
Yes, absolutely. Speed Demon UK is fully inclusive. We structure our community rides with dedicated tail-riders and markers so that no 125cc rider is ever left behind or pushed past their comfort zone.
How do you mix 125cc bikes with 1,000cc superbikes safely?
We use a drop-off corner marking system and keep our routes off motorways. By navigating scenic backroads, twisty Sussex links, and standard A-roads, the speed differential between a 125cc and a 1000cc bike disappears. Everyone gets to enjoy the rhythm of the road at a safe, group-conscious pace.
Where do your group rides usually start?
Our primary meetup point is Ryka's Café near Box Hill, serving riders coming out of South London, Surrey, and Kent. From there, our routes primarily venture deep into Sussex, ending at iconic biker destinations like Brighton seafront.
Do I need to pay to join the community or go on a ride?
No. Speed Demon UK is a free community group ride network. We ride for the passion of biking and to meet up with new people. Just turn up with a full tank of fuel and a good attitude.
How do I find out when the next Ryka's to Brighton ride is happening?
We post all live event schedules, meeting times on Whats App, and route maps directly on our website events page and our official social channels. Always check the weather updates the morning of the ride!
